Welcome to Fall 2012 at the John Tyler Community College Libraries!

Are you ready to make this your best year ever? The libraries at JTCC can help! We have many of the tools and resources you need to succeed.

A quick overview of what you can find at both campus libraries:

  • Books and More
    • Use the catalog to find:
      • Books both printed and electronic.
      • Videos both DVDs and streaming from Films on Demand.
  • Use the databases to find journals and other periodicals (magazines).
  • Need help?
    • Call or visit us
    • Use 24/7 chat service, Ask-A-Librarian
    • View a tutorial on our website
      • Find a book in the catalog
      • Find articles
        • Printing
          • Both campuses are on a pay-to-print system
          • You will need $2 in cash because the machine only takes $1s and $5s
          • Black and white prints are .05 and color prints are .50
        • Library cards
          • Your ticket to big ideas!
          • Bring in your picture ID (such as a driver’s license) and we will get you a card

Chester campus: New Library, New Resources

  • Designated open learning area with modern, comfortable seating for leisurely reading or collaborative projects.
  • Eight private group study rooms available on a first come, first served basis – no reservations.
  • Clubs and organizations may reserve the conference room for meetings. Inquire with library staff.
  • Library workshops offered throughout the semester on topics such as citation, database research and website evaluation. Workshops are opened to everyone. Topic suggestions are always encouraged!
  • Coming soon! – Chromeboxes and Chromebooks.

Additionally at the Midlothian campus:

  • Four quiet study rooms
    • First-come, first served basis—no reservation.
    • All have white boards and flat screens for practicing those presentations!
    • Laptop computers
      • For John Tyler Community College students
      • Check-out for 4 hours in the library
