How to Apply for VA Benefits
Veterans are strongly encouraged to file an electronic application for VA benefits, which is now available at www.gibill.va.gov. Veterans who elect to use the electronic application process will be pleased to note that they should receive their Certificate of Eligibility in less than 2-3 weeks. After receiving their Certificate of Eligibility in the mail, veterans should take this important document to the Veterans Affairs Office at John Tyler.
If you would like to complete a hard copy of the application, you can obtain an application in the Veterans Affairs Office at the College. Reservists and members of the National Guard seeking benefits will also need to a obtain a Notice of Basic Eligibility from their unit.
