Bring a Friend to Class
Posted on March 17, 2017
Do you have friends or family members who are exploring their college options or are curious about what it’s like to be in college? If so, invite them to class on April 10 or April 11 for Bring a Friend Day. We know many high schools are on spring break those days, so if you know a high school junior or senior who is interested in finding out what it’s like to be a John Tyler Trailblazer, this is a great time to share your college experience with them.
Guests must be in 11th or 12th grade, and you must get the permission of your instructor before bringing a guest to your class, as space, tests, labs and other coursework may limit which classes can welcome guests.
If you do bring a friend to your class, make sure to fill out an information card (available in your class) and leave it with your instructor so you and your guest can be entered into a drawing to win exclusive John Tyler merchandise, including a grant prize of a $100 bookstore gift card. Winners will be notified by e-mail or phone call.
While on campus April 10 and April 11, plan to bring your guest to Tyler’s free Open House, going on from 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. During the open houses, taking place at both campuses, experts will be on hand to answer questions about financial aid, admissions, scholarships and Tyler’s many programs. At 11:00 a.m., 2:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., information and tours will be held. Register in advance at www.jtcc.edu/openhouse. Those who register online before April 9 will be entered into a drawing to receive a free gift.
