College Security Services

John Tyler Community College has security on campus 24 hours a day. In addition to periodically staffing the security stations listed below, security officers monitor activity on campus by making routine rounds, helping to ensure a safe and secure environment at the College.

Security officers can help with general information about the campus, basic first aid, parking questions, lost and found items, dead car batteries, and escort assistance, as well as general security issues.

Contacting Security Services

To report an emergency or to request assistance from a security officer, visit one of the security desks or call one of the numbers listed below (if using a campus phone, dial 9 first to get an outside line):

Chester Campus

Desk locations:
Goyne Hall – lobby
Moyar Hall – 1st floor (across from M101)
Nicholas Student Center – inside the main entrance

Midlothian Campus

Desk locations:
Administration Building – 1st floor atrium
Eliades Hall – 2nd floor (next to E215)
Hamel Hall – 1st floor (near H109)
T-Building – inside the main entrance

NOTE: If your call is not immediately answered, do not hang up. The security officer may be handling other calls or may be away from the desk. If he/she is away from the desk, your call will forward to the cell phone carried by the officer.
