Banned Books Week- Tyler Librarians’ Picks!

As we have said all week, librarians love banned books.  While we have been highlighting the books and graphic novels with the highest number of challenges in the last year, we decided to bring awareness to our favorites here at the Tyler libraries.  If you would like to share your favorite banned books with us tag them with #Tylerlibrary and #bannedbooks for us to find!

I’ll kick off the fun!

Harry Potter SeriesHarry Potter series by J.K. Rowling

I couldn’t pick just one!  Anyone who knows me, knows that I have a serious affinity for the Harry Potter series.  While this is an obvious choice for many, it really is one of my favorite series of all times.  Between my love of owls and all things magical, this was just the perfect fit for me as a young adult.  Now as a librarian, I definitely credit this series for expanding my love of reading and leading me towards my future.  I even have a lightning bolt tattoo and was chosen by my wand at Ollivander’s!

And here are the staff picks from other librarians!
