Spring Break is here – time to pick up some vacation reading! Here are two suggestions.
Murder in the library? The New York Public Library? Not quite, but the NYPL is the setting for much of Linda Fairstein’s 11th legal thriller starring sleuth Assistant District Attorney Alexandra Cooper. Cooper thinks she is investigating an assault/ homicide on the Upper East Side but that quickly morphs into much more, involving rare book collectors and antique map collections. She ends up in pitch black darkness, far below the famous 5th Avenue Public Library, pursuing a killer who “values money more than life,” as the jacket blurb puts it.
Fans of Kristin Hannah (On Mystic Lake, The Things We Do for Love) will enjoy her latest novel. True Colors is a sisters’ saga that follows Winona, Aurora, and Vivi Ann from their teen years when their mother dies through college, marriage, careers and conflict. The bonds between them are broken and reknit as events give the women opportunities to decide what really matters in their lives.
Both books are available at the Midlothian Campus Library. We are open 7:30 AM – 5 PM during the week of Spring Break–come in and check them out!
