The staff of the JTCC Library is thrilled to welcome Suzanne Sherry, our new library director.

Suzanne has always been a bookworm, so the library is a natural career step—and all of us who are endlessly curious. She began working part-time at John Tyler while attending library school; first as a part-time library assistant, then as the Digital Library Specialist. During her time at Tyler Libraries she helped the Midlothian library move into its current location in Hamel Hall and built a new website. For two years she worked with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness and led the SACS Accreditation, but always wanted to come back to the library.

Suzanne moved to Reynolds Libraries in 2013, first as the Emerging Technologies Librarian and then as the Library Coordinator at the Parham Road Campus. “I love working in the library and in the community college system. We do so much good for so many!”

In real life she has plenty to keep her busy. Paul, her long-suffering spouse of 26 years, is the funniest human on the planet. They have two children; Liam is a freshman at George Mason and Niamh is a sophomore at Monacan High. Benny the pit bull mix loves people and hates other dogs. In her limited spare time she likes to knit, cook, read and run long distances…”but I always come back home!”

Please say Hi as you see her around both campus libraries.
