Library Student Worker: “Tyler Libraries are hiring student workers to join our team in the Fall semester! We are seeking detail-oriented, motivated individuals who are passionate about serving their fellow students in creative ways. No library experience is required, but you must be enrolled in at least one class for the Fall semester to be considered.

ARC Tutor: “This position will be for a student tutor position in the Academic Resource Center. You will be required to tutor either Writing, or Math/Science, and act as a resource to students on a walk-in basis. The position has a maximum of 20 hours per week (minimum is 10-15 hrs) and is based out of both the Midlothian and Chester campuses. Duties of student tutors will include offering academic support to students on a walk-in basis, running appointment-based tutoring sessions, assisting in creating resources for students, and assisting with presenting informational presentations in classes as well as campus workshops created by ARC staff. Student tutors should have basic knowledge of computers, as well as the Microsoft Office Suit.” 

Student Ambassador: “The Student Ambassador Program is a leadership opportunity for Tyler students who are dedicated to serving and representing John Tyler Community College. Student Ambassadors provide campus tours, assist prospective and new students, and support various campus events, including Open House and New Student Orientation.

What does a Student Ambassador do?
• Represent Tyler at college events
• Conduct campus tours for prospective students, new students, high school classes, and other guests
• Develop an expanded knowledge of Tyler’s campus, programs, and services
• Provide tips on being a successful student
• Assist with a variety of office related tasks
• Support student success initiatives”

Career and Transfer Center Student Assistants

“The Career and Transfer Center is seeking hard-working student assistants to handle a variety of responsibilities in the Chester Career & Transfer Center office. Some of the responsibilities include helping with events, assisting students and community members with the Professional Clothing Closet, and handling front desk and administrative duties. Fill out an online application. Open to work-study students only. To be eligible for work-study, you must be enrolled in at least 6 credits.”

Student Activities Student Worker

“Are you friendly and able to provide great customer service? Do you enjoy interacting with people at events and activities? If so, the Office of Student Activities may be a great place for you to work. If you’re interested please email us your resume, fall semester availability, and preferred campus to work from at Open to work-study students only. To be eligible for work-study, you must be enrolled in at least 6 credits.”
