The Financial Aid Office continues to provide its services remotely, and new and current students are encouraged to access these services from off campus.The Financial Aid Office is also providing on-campus assistance for students who cannot access services remotely or through the 24/7 Financial Aid and Student Accounts Support Center.

Remote Assistance
Students can use 24/7 Financial Aid and Student Accounts Support Center at mysupport.jtcc.edu  or 1-855-874-6684 for inquiries regarding financial aid; students can make an appointment through the system to work with a Tyler staff member. Inquiries that cannot be resolved by the 24/7 Support Center will be forwarded to Tyler staff and staff will respond to students within 48 business hours.

Tyler Financial Aid staff are available for remote assistance:

Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

On-Campus Assistance
Students can use 24/7 Financial Aid and Student Accounts Support Center at mysupport.jtcc.edu or 1-855-874-6684 to request an appointment to meet with a Tyler staff member; please wait for staff to confirm your appoinment before coming to campus. Walk-ins will be accepted based on availability. Staff are available for on-campus assistance at the Chester and Midlothian campuses:  

Monday – Friday: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP)

To be eligible to receive financial aid at John Tyler, students must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP).
SAP is measured by:

  • Grade point average
  • Number of credit hours earned in relation to number of credit hours attempted (including transfer credit hours)
  • Number of credit hours attempted in relation to number of credit hours necessary to complete the degree or certification program (including transfer credit hours)
