Tyler Scholarships

Each year the John Tyler Community College Foundation offers scholarships created exclusively for Tyler students through donors’ generous support of the college. The Foundation typically awards more than $250,000 in scholarship funding each year with awards ranging from $500 to $4,000 for the academic year.

There are need- and achievement-based scholarships; scholarships for students in specific majors; and scholarships for students from certain counties or cities in our service region. To be considered, students need to have in-state tuition status, have a 2.5 or higher GPA, and be enrolled in a certificate or degree program by the start of the fall semester.

Applications are accepted each spring, and one application allows you to be considered for all scholarships for which you qualify. You do not need to have filed a FAFSA to apply for a Tyler scholarship.

“I was lucky enough to receive a scholarship during my entire time at Tyler, and it made it so I didn’t have to work as many hours. I could focus on my studies and on my family.”
