Monday, October 14th: "NFL Viewing Party" -- Students, faculty and staff are invited to watch Lions vs. Packers from 7:30pm-10pm at the Midlothian campus in the Student Lounge on our big screen TV's. Participate in NFL Bingo to have a chance to win cool JTCC SWAG. Refreshments will be available. 

Tuesday, October 15th: "Liar, Liar Pants on Fire! Evaluating Sources in the Age of Misinformation" -- Unsure what sources to rely on for credible information?  Join the Tyler Libraries to learn how to identify and avoid sources of both misinformation and disinformation and different evaluation methods to use when performing research. The workshop will be held at the Chester campus library at 1pm.

Friday, October 18th: "Spooktacular" Fall Festival -- Enjoy the JTCC fall festival that features hauted houses, candy trail, haunted carols, etc. The event will take place on the Midlothian campus inside and outside of the T-building. 

Monday, October 21st: "Laser Quest Night" -- All students are invited to participate in Laser Quest Night. The event is free and will be held from 6pm-9pm. Laser Quest is located at 889 Research Road. Students, faculty and staff must REGISTER!

All Semester: "College Night @Laser Quest" -- All Tyler students are invited to participate in Laser Quest Night between 6pm-9pm on Wednesdays & Thursdays for the discounted price of $6.50 per game. You must present your Student ID. 

All Semester: "Recreational Swimming" -- Participate in recreational swimming at Virginia State University, Daniel’s Gymnasium pool between the times of 7pm-10pm.  You must present your Student ID.

Intramural Sports 

To register for all intramuaral sports you must be logged into your student email account. 

Volleyball Club: "Sign-Up Today" -- We're looking to start-up a Volleyball club here at Tyler. The club will meet 1 or 2 times a week. Joining this club is a great way to stay active and meet new people. Participants can be of any skill level. Sign-up by emailing studentactivities@jtcc.edu

Flag Football: "Sign-Up Today"-- The season will start on October 16th and games will be held on the Midlothian campus on the quad (between t-building & Hamel Hall). Games will be held on Wednesdays from 5:15pm-6:15pm. Click HERE to register!

Soccer Intramurals: "Sign-Up Today" -- Soccer intramurals starts September 23rd and will be held at the Chester campus on the soccer field. We are currently holding official practices on Mondays from 5:15pm-6:15pm. Email studentactivities@jtcc.edu if you're interested in participating or just come to practice.

Student ID's

Student IDs can be picked up from the Office of Student Activities during normal business hours. There is no charge for a student ID. Student IDs may also be required to attend certain student activities on campus.

Reasons to obtain your ID:

  • Print at the campus library
  • Obtain your parking pass
  • Access to campus gym
  • Store discounts
  • Access to VSU recreational facilities (swimming pool)
  • The ability to be identified as a Tyler student quickly
  • Check out books and meeting rooms at the library
